I noticed this thread on Absolute Write, asking How much do publishers edit? The replies are all good, and I'm sure honest. They are also primarily of the opinion that editors all edit, and edit well.

But here's the thing: Writers aren't in a position to evaluate this.

I swear, I wish I could figure out how to legitimately market my brain to the publishing industry.
